"von Mabrunic"
Excellent socialization is important for every puppy!
Therefore our family kennel has a dynamic organization. An important part of our
reeding philosophy is to prepare the puppies playfully for daily life and to offer
them good experiences in socialization. Early in life they should interact with
other animals in the house and garden, accept cuddling by children and get
to know audible signals.
Nobody can guarantee good health, but our dogs are HD-tested and an eye
test (PRA) is done annually.
In order to avoid inbreeding and in order to keep our blood lines robust,
we source our breeding males far from the local gene pool. |
Our kennel is SKG* certified (Goldenes Gütezeichen)

By the way, this lovable, fuzzy dog is very playful
and always good humored. Due to the roguish expression of its face and its
monkey- like eyes it was nicknamed in Portugal 'Cao macaco' – monkey face.
Since 1998 this lovely sheepdog is being bred again in Switzerland; it is certain
to attract more and more interest.

My Biography
I started breeding Caos in Switzerland in 1998.
Since then I have raised 34 Cao da Serra de Aires puppies.
Some of these puppies became breeding dogs. A second kennel opened and a litter of 10 were born.
Cao's were imported from Germany, France and Portugal. And "Swiss"-Cao's were exported.
In the year 2003 approximately 50 Caos live in Switzerland.
I have traveled to Portugal several times because contact with breeders from the original country
is very important to me. In order to make a suitable mating for Cimba, we traveled to
Portugal with her.
Here, and in the neighbouring countries, all Caos are related. I have imported two puppies
from Portugal so that I can diversify and strengthen the Swiss bloodline. |
